EN 10025-6 S550Q structural steel equivalent

S550Q carbon steel is a structural steel grade for the European standard EN 10025-6. In terms of equivalent grades, S550Q steel is equivalent to ASTM A514 Grade F steel, ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel, and DIN 17102 E StE 460 steel. S550Q structural steel is a high-yield and quenched-and-tempered structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa. It is one of the most commonly used steel grades for heavy-duty structures and is widely used in the construction of bridges, buildings, and other structures.

S550Q high-strength quenched-and-tempered steel with a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa. This grade S550Q  is one of the most commonly used steel grades for heavy-duty structures and is widely used in the construction of bridges, buildings, and other structures.

The chemical composition of S550Q steel is as follows:
Carbon (C): 0.14-0.22
Manganese (Mn): 0.7-1.6
Silicon (Si): 0.5-1.3
Phosphorus (P): 0.025
Sulfur (S): 0.015
Chromium (Cr): 0.45-0.75
Molybdenum (Mo): 0.15-0.25
Nickel (Ni): 0.45-0.75
Vanadium (V): 0.03-0.08

S550Q carbon structural steel has a number of mechanical properties, including a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa, an elongation at break of 18%, and a hardness of HBW 360/400.

S550Q steel is an economical and highly efficient structural steel grade for a number of applications. It is widely used in the construction of bridges, buildings, and other structures. It is also used in the manufacture of heavy-duty equipment and machinery. Its excellent mechanical properties make it well-suited for a variety of applications.
